The ‘Mashoperia’ 6D Museum [Muzeum 6D – Maszoperia] –was set up to commemorate the life and work of the Baltic Coast Mashoperian communities.
To many of us the word museum is associated with yawning, mismatched protective felt slippers and a guide who repeats like a mantra “do not touch” as soon as we approach an exhibit, which is hidden inside a glass cabinet.
Once you have visited our Museum, you are bound to change your mind.
The ‘Mashoperia’ 6D Museum is the only one of its kind in Europe.
Here we have no guides or slippers, and there are no signs of boredom. You don’t have to whisper. Quite the opposite, you can speak loudly, exchange opinions and touch exhibits. All the exhibits will be presented to you by our Narrator, who will take you back to the year 1913 with his story. Tours are available in Polish, German, English and Russian. You will discover, among others, who the ‘Mashoperia’, and the ‘szyper’ [skipper] are, and what the traditional ‘checza’ [fisherman’s cottage] is like.
So, are you ready to start the adventure and abolish the myth of a boring museum?
